The Journey So Far As A Representative.

Every time you do a good deed you shine the light a little farther into the dark. And the thing is, when you're gone that light is going to keep shining on, pushing the shadows back.

Hon. Ajibola Famurewa member of House of Representatives representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency at the green chamber of the National Assembly. His Constituency comprise of Atakumosa East/West and Ilesa East/West Local Governments including the newly created LCDAs of Ilesa North East, Ilesa West Central, Atakumosa West Central and Atakumosa East Central.

I believe that we should be remembered for the things we do. They are more important than what we say or what we look like. The things we do outlast our mortality. The things we do are like monuments. They're like the pyramids that the Egyptians built to honour the Pharaohs. Only instead of being made out of stone, they're made out of the memories people have of you. That's why your deeds are like your monuments. Built with memories instead of with stone.

It is on record that on the floor of the House, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa has presented petitions on behalf of his constituent and most of the petitions were resolved in his favour. Mention needs to be made of the petition by BETGAD GROUP OF SCHOOLS students whose results were held by NECO. The results of the students were released after the intervention of House Committee on public petition. How could these affected students forget the influence of Hon. Ajibola Famurewa? Or the petition he submitted on behalf of the staff of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital that were wrongfully dismissed from service. How can the reinstated staff forget his influence?

Hon. Ajibola Famurewa succeeded in sponsoring many motions on the floor of the House. Mention can be made of the dispute between Osun and Ondo states. The House then directed the Boundary Commission to resolve the issue amicable between the two states.

He used his influence as a member of House Committee on works then to get the attention of the House on Ilesa-Osogbo and Ilesa-Akure roads. He as well co-sponsored many motions with his coleagues in the House notable are the motions for the revocation of the sale of Osogbo Steel Rolling Mill. His motion that got a lot of applaud from his people is that of the upgrade of Wesley Guild Hospital to a Medical Health Center that eventually led to the approval of a Medical Health Center in Ijesaland.
At his constituency level, he has done a lot to ameliorate the condition of the people he represents.

He has given out and installed more than 26 units of 500KVA transformers across all the Local Government of his constituency. Boreholes were sunk in some localities within Atakumosa East and West Local Government areas.. He supplied 50 units of solar powered street light in Ilesa East and West Local Government areas. He saw to the construction of Kajola/Abiola Avenue bridge in Ilesa township, the drainage along the road were also done through his office.

Hon. Ajibola Famurewa's Empowerment and Skill acquisition programmes produced many beneficiaries over time and it still ongoing. He recently sponsored Ijesa FA Cup football competition.
In the Education sector he severally organized free remedial classes for secondary scholl students in 3 centers of Ilesa, he organized and sponsored Mathematics competition for students preparing for WASCE and NECO examinations.

 He saw to the construction of a modern Mega Middle School at Hope Grammar School, Ilesa and same model and design is nearing completion at the St. John's Middle School, Iloro. He built new blocks of classrooms and renovated some delapidated ones at Atakumosa High School, Osu and Ifewara High School, Ifewara.

Hon. Ajibola Famurewa's politics is rooted among his people, he has always lived among them so he knows there needs and aspiration. For him every sunrise is an invitation to arise and brighten someone's day as he is a very sociable man. He has assisted and contributed immensely to the private finacial needs of many of his people that approached him for such and as a grassroot man he has enormously contributed to the infrastructural take-off of the four newly created Local Council Development Areas of Atakimosa West Central of Ifewara, Atakumosa East Centra, Iwara, Ilesa North East, Imo and Ilesa West Central, Ereja.

I am putting this into writing to appreciate his good deeds as I look forward to a happy contunuation of the mandate given to Hon. (Engr.) Israel Ajibola Famurewa by his people hoping that he is set to do another and harder and better ones.

Some prominent members of his constituency have these to say about him;

"He's a good example of a legislature. Highly dedicated and committed to the welfare of his constituency. He's constantly on ground that one might think he's actually performing his legislative duties from home." Mr. Bolupe Awe.

"Jibola is a politician from another world. He is a gift to his people. Humble, generous, always full of life. That's my personal description of a man our path crossed in 1998."- Mr. Abayomi Adeyemi

"He has been tested for years and he didn't disappoint his Constituents and humanity. I feel if entrusted with greater and higher responsibilities, he will touch more positively beyond our imaginations. Ride on peoples' Honourable".....
