PHOTOS: Prof. Isaac Adewole, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa & Engr. Remi Omowaiye Were at Home for Christmas

There is no place like home for holidays. This must have prompted the honourable minister for health, prof. Isaac Adewole, the member of House of Representatives, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa and Osun commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology to be in Ilesa and took time to visit places on the popular boxing day holiday.

The day started with a get-together breakfast with Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa at his Omi Eran residence of Ilesa. There, the minister for health was a guest speaker. He spoke extensively on his experience in governance. "As a minister God took me there so that I can learn. It is a school for me", he declared. " Almost all the contracts that we awarded since the beginning of this administration were the old contracts, 2005, 2011 all of them abandoned. In other words Nigeria went through a period of decay, the period of the caterpillar, the grasshopper and the cankerworm. Many of the lootings in the country made me to believe that some people were mad. Even if one is to live for life I ask myself, the amount that many people stole, they cannot use it. I now ask myself but how can anybody steal so much? What the present government had done is to block the leaking holes so that money can stay and that's why we are coming out recession and we are also investing in Agriculture because as a nation we cannot be importing food. In 2014-2015 alone Nigeria imported over 800 million USD of rice from China last year we imported only 30 million USD to show you that things are improving. We can't be importing food. No country is as blessed as Nigeria with the soil we have, throw any seed out and it will grow. So many of us believe that coming out of recession, 2018 will be better than 2017".

After the breakfast get together at Prof. Okunmadewa's the entourage proceeded to Omo Ijesa the country home of the Minister. Where he was welcomed into a community meeting directed by Chief Akin Oluwakuyide, the Asiwaju of Omo Ijesa. At the meeting the pressing needs of the inhabitants of the community were presented before the trio of the minister Prof. Isaac Adewole, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa and Engr. Remi Omowaiye. The needs center on youth empowerment/employment, good and accessible road into the community and the leaders imploded the minister to turn around the lots of Omo Ijesa like late Oba Oladele Olasore did to Iloko Ijesa.

The next point of call after Omo Ijesa was Erinmo Ijesa where the minister and his team were hosted by the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa, Oba (Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi at his palace. The royal father showered encomium on Hon. Ajibola Famurewa whom he described as a man of the people because he frequently seen at home even when his assignment aligned him with Abuja. He (the Elerinmo) led the minister and his team to the Erinmo Community Health Centre and the site of the Erinmo Hospital. The minister promised to uplift and equip the health centre adequately within six months and Engr. Remi Omowaiye was assigned to liaise  with Osun commissioner for Health to see what can be done on the construction work of the hospital.
