Ahead of the local government elections that will hold in the state on January 27, 2018, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilesa East LG and Ilesa North East LCDA held a motorcade campaign after 10 years that local government elections were conducted in the state.
Suffice to say that elections would be conducted in the 30 local government council; local council development areas and the area offices recently created by the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
The chairman of the APC in Ilesa East, Chief Idowu Korede, who also is the state commissioner for Sanitation and Environment, party leaders, Councillorship candidates and many party loyalists attended today's rally.
Recall that the state would use the parliamentary system in electing politicians into the councils, chairmanship elections would not be conducted but councillors would be elected and the chairmen would be elected among the elected councillors.
Today's rally signified a big wake-up for the party in the Local Government and the State at large as political activities were in its lowest ebb before this upcoming Councillorship Elections.
The public acceptability of the APC was put to test and it is evident from today's rally that the people of Ilesa East are well identified with the ruling All Progressives Congress' administration in the state, far from the insinuation of some from the opposition that APC is not popular; it still remains the party to beat not only in Osun State, but in the general elections.
Here are photos from the rally.
