ACCEPTANCE SPEECH BY OTUNBA ADESOJI OLOWOOPEJOBORI AS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN ILESA EAST LGA, OSUN STATE

Let me start by thanking Almighty God, the maker of heaven and earth, for this victory granted to us all because , we are all winners.

Today is indeed a great day and the Ilesa East Local Government people have spoken and spoken very loudly.

To all the delegates, political associates, friends, fans, supporters, well-wishers, good people of Ilesa East LGA and my APC family, I, OTUNBA AKEEM ADESOJI OLOWOOPEJOBORI , hereby humbly and gratefully accept your nomination for the Chairmanship of Ilesha East LGA under our great party, the All Progressive Congress (APC).

It is a great privilege and honour and a great responsibility to take on this office and I will do it with everything I have to the best of my ability for my party the All Progressives Congress (APC), my state, my governor, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola and my country.

I would like to thank all political leaders of this local government and especially other parliamentarians for the very civilised, decent and reasonable way this exercise has been conducted. This is good for our party.

Thank you all for believing in our capacities, capabilities and competencies to transform Ilesha East LGA into a desirable paradise and to influence the lives of our people positively.

I want to assure you all that everyone of the parliamentarians is a vital part of this team. We all have responsibilities as individuals, families, business operators, civil servants etc.

We all have a part to play to assure continuity of progressive government in this local government and the state at large bearing in mind that 2018 is the year of governorship election in our dear state. I can't do it on my own. I solicit the support of every member of parliament, the career officers and all our staff and the citizens of this local government at large.

I promise to uphold and not disappoint the trust and confidence bestowed on me through this great political mandate.

I intend to run an all-inclusive tenure and carry those I contested with along as this victory is a collective one.

We have to work together to make Ilesha East LGA and Osun state greater, better, more attractive and business-friendly.

I will ensure I work to give our people the best of good governance and bring democratic benefits to their doorsteps.

In my tenure , I shall work to reduce poverty, attract investments and ensure our people are gainfully engaged to be useful to themselves, their families and the society at large. I shall bring back social and moral values to ensure we have a more secured, peaceful and responsible community in Ilesha East .

I intend to achieve permanent Peace and security, rural infrastructural development, boost agriculture, quality healthcare facilities and service delivery and other employees benefits, social welfare scheme and improved revenue generation during my administration.

Permit me to say that Ilesa East Local Government Area is endowed with both human and material resources, which I intend to utilize fully to achieve productivity in the economy.

May I use this opportunity to also say that there will be zero tolerance for corruption as my administration will make integrity, accountability, transparency and judicious management of resources our watch words.

As an individual, I do not see being a Local Government Chairman as an avenue to make money but to serve my Ilesa people.

To the elites, stakeholders, youths, women, businessmen/women, market women and traditional leaders within and outside Ilesa East LGA, I say thank you for the great supports and prayers. My Administration will not disappoint you.

My special appreciation to our amiable governor, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, the APC family, and the security agencies for ensuring this election was peaceful, free, fair, credible and acceptable.

Once again, I thank you all.

May Allah in his infinite mercy, bless you all.
