I watched Osun governorship debate on Channels Television on September 16, 2018 with keen interest and I can confirm that it was an interesting outing. However, I was shocked beyond imagination to hear that State of Osun was ranked as 29th by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Findings by yours sincerely have revealed that the said ranking was not only fake, it was the handwork of the opposition, in satanic connivance with enemies of progress, to misinform the public with a view to discrediting the Governor Rauf Aregbesola-led government,
To the best of my knowledge, WAEC doesn’t do state ranking. Those in doubt of this position are free to confirm from:

What WAEC only does is assessment through percentage scores and, from my findings, Osun has improved considerably in the last 8 years. For instance, it moved from an embarrassing 15.68%, where Gov. Aregbesola met it in 2010, to 46.77% in 2016. In 2018, it rose to 54.7%! Put in strict terms, the state recorded 284% in the performance of student in WAEC from 2010 to 2017.
Assuming without conceding that WAEC ranks states, how on earth would a state like Osun, which has been witnessing reforms in all its critical sectors - of which education is one – have been on the same 29th position for 4 consecutive years? On the other hand, and, looking at it critically, too, it is not the duty of WAEC to rank states a la performance in its examinations. So, the examination body never ranked Osun 29th; and Osun did not come 29th in WAEC rankings for 2017.
Yes, politics is an interest-driven game. But it should never be used to distort facts or as a tool of blackmail, not even on a government like Governor Aregbesola’s that has been working round the clock to reposition the education sector in the state.
Yours faithfully,
