The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has shut down electricity supply to Ilesa city and its environs following the fracas that broke out between the company and some irate youths from llesa East local government on Thursday 14th of March, 2018.

The regional public relations officer of company in Osun State, Miss Kikelomo Owoeye had boasted in a press interview that the area would remain disconnected from the national grid until the perpetrators of the attack on the staff of the company were fished out. The problem started when the youths in Olomilagbala and Bolorunduro area of Ilesa East Local Government protested to the Ilesa business office of the IBEDC over crazy billl and irregular supply of electricity to the areas for more than six months .
