The State of Osun governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola attended the empowerment and graduation ceremony organized by Hon. Ajibola Famurewa on Tuesday 16th of July, 2019 at the Assembly Hall of Ilesa Government High School where he showered encomiums on the organizer who also was the Director General of his campaign organization and was the former House of Representatives member that represented Ijesa South Federal Constituency consisting of Atakumosa East and West, Ilesa East and West Local Governments.
Governor Oyetola thanked God for a successful 8-year tenure put in by Hon. Famurewa as member of House of Representatives of Nigeria National Assembly pointing out that it is a sign that God loves him. he equally appreciated him for thinking it appropriate to empower some members of his constituent even at this time that he his winding up his tenure. The governor said "whoever deeps his hands in to his pocket to give out things of this magnitude has done so to thank God. Otherwise the sum of money put into this is enough to build a mansion or purchase a 2019 model exotic car but Hon. Famurewa has remembered that God has blessed him so that he can bless others. God will not come down to help us one by one but He will be sending helpers to us from within ourselves.
"Since I came close to know Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, I discovered that he is a man that does his things wholeheartedly. He is the one that God used as the Director General of my campaign organization, a responsibility that he performed without looking for financial benefit. His performance is beyond my expectation. He gave all his time to the success of the campaign that eventually resulted in my emergence as the State of Osun governor. I appeal to the beneficiaries to make good use of what they will be going home with."
In his remark, Hon. Famurewa also thanked God for the opportunity to add another year to his age as his birthday fell on the 13th of July. "I looked back and consider it worthy to appreciate God for a successful 8-year tenure as a representative at the National Assembly." He said.
The programme was the 6th in the series of youth and women empowerment. Hon. Ajibola Famurewa has successfully implemented in which many have been empowered in the last eight years where more than 2000 beneficiaries have been recorded in the areas of leadership skills and vocational training in fashion design, catering service, hair dressing, barbing, shoemaking and so on.
At this occasion of the winding up of his stewardship, educational materials were given out to twelve Middle and High schools of Ijesa South Federal Constituency. Also all the the trainers of the beneficiaries were paid off and more than 300 beneficiaries were given materials to start up their acquired vocations. Thus, the beneficiaries went home with 40 electricity generators, 10 hairdryers, 47 grinding machines and 85 sewing machines.
Other dignitaries that graced the occasion included the State of Osun Deputy Governor, Mr. Benedict Alabi the Speaker OSHA Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, the Chief of Staff, Dr. Charles Akinola, his deputy, Alhaji Binuyo, Chief Rotimi Obesun, Leader Kunle Odeyemi, Hon. Wale Adedoyin, Hon. Babatunde Komolafe, Chief Idowu Korede, traditional obas and chiefs and many political party leaders and supporters.
