Read the Biography of Iya Ajinde






Hon. Mrs. Florence Eniola Adekunle (Iya Ajinde) was born into the family of Late Pa. Olusegun and his wife Idowu Ashaolu of Iloro compound Ilesa on 26th of March 1958.

She started her primary school education at Orire Ogedengbe United Primary School, Ilesa. She later proceeded to The Apostasy Commercial Modern School, Oke-Ooye, Ilesa.

Work Experience

She started her teaching career in 1978 where she worked as a teacher at Oniyere Grammar School. She later got transferred to Alagbon Grammar School. Her love for education triggered her to enroll herself. Into an advanced learning programme called ICAN where she started from stage 1 to stage 2 while she stopped at stage 3. After ICAN programme she proceeded to work at Ajimoko High School, Ilesa. She was later transferred to Ifewara High School where she retired as a Principal Executive Officer.

Marital Life

While she was working at Oniyere Grammar School, she met Mr. Femi Famose and the union is blessed with two children. Years later, some disagreement between them. She remarried to Late Prince Adekunle Ajinde (JP) in 1990.

Political Career

Iya Ajinde served as a Welfare Officer of A. D. Party, Ilesa East Local Government. She also served as Supervising Councillor for Works as a member of Caretaker Committee of Ilesa East LG between 2002 to 2003. She is a member of Oranmiyan Group. She is also a member of Osun House Rent Tribunal from year 2012 to 2018. 

She served as a member of Osun State Women Empowerment Board from 2012 to 2015. She was the Chairperson of Women Wing of Ileri-Oluwa Campaign Organization. She was very active in her political career till the day of her death.
