Controversies Trailing Osun Cabinet List Laid to Rest: Owoeye Read Nominees List

Controversies trailing the list of Osun Cabinet was laid to rest as the Governor of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has sent the list of  35 persons to be appointed as Commissioners and Special Advisers nominees and sought the approval of Osun House of Assembly for clearance and confirmation.

The Speaker of the Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye read the names of the nominees during the plenary and assured that the legislators would do thorough assessment of the nominees.

The Speaker also expressed concern over the manner in which fake lists were circulated on social media in which certain names were speculated

According to him, "The names on the list are, Adebisi Obawale, Ibitoye Felix, Sola Oladepo Ajisefuni Abiodun, Muminu Adekunle,Ogunfolaju Christie, Oladimeji Olanubi, Agunbiade Nathaniel.

Others are Folorunsho Bamisayemi, Akeju Taiwo, Lawal azeez, Olaonipekun Henry Olabode, Adeleke Adebayo, Olamiju Olasiji, Yinusa Olalekan, Isamotu Olasunkanmi Rafiu, Bola Oyebamiji, Omowaiye Remi, Jamiu Olawumi, Akande Oluwafemi, Olumide Babatunde, Olaniyan Hussein, Adeosun Rasaq.

Also on the nominees list are Badmus Rahmon Olalekan, Bakare Akande, Giwa Lateefat,Tadese Raheem, Adewole Adedayo, Lawal Tajudeen, Babalola Idiat, Bolaji Aderemi, Egbemode Funke, Kareem Akande,Oyegbile Rufus and Olaboopo Olubukola".

This was disclosed today at the Plenary of the House by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, under Message from the Governor.

According to the Governor in line with section 192(2) and 196(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999( as amended), the list is subject to the consideration and confirmation of the State Assembly.  

Commenting on the development, the Speaker, Hon. Owoeye, while rejoicing with the Nominees of the Governor for the said positions also directed them to submit 35 copies each of their Curriculum Vitae and other necessary documents not later than Friday, 27th September, 2019 in preparation for the screening exercise.  

Hon. Owoeye also gave an hints about the commencement of the screening proper which according to him would be done by OSHA
in coming week Monday, 30th September, 2019 saying timetable for the said screening will be out soon.
