4:00pm
Omowaiye Oluremi

Responding to the complaining of the honourable representing Ejigbo state constituency claiming that his constituency suffers infrastructural neglect particularly in the area of road construction, Engr. Omowaiye said "the narrative is changing the administration of governor Gboyega Oyetola administration believes that infrastructural development is key. there is no society that can grow without this. As of now. we have rehabilitated some network of roads in Ede, Irewole, Iwo and Ejigbo, the one that is leading to Ejigbo General Hospital. We understand that no part of the state must be left untouched but there is a problem of fund"

Speaking on Osogbo-Iwo road, he said "the road has the best alignments in the southwest, When Governor Oyetola assumed office, the first thing he did was to go to Abuja, and met with a number of ministers including the minister in charge of works, Mr. Raji Fasola and we have started to see the results. We have commenced with the rehabilitation of the road. In the next two months people going to Iwo, Iwoye, Ejigbo, part of Ede and Egbedore will start to have smooth drive."

Responding to the question from the Honorable representing Irepodun, he said, " Ilobu-Oko-Ogbomoso road was awarded in 2009 when exchange rate a Naira to dollar was N130, we approached the Federal Ministry of Works and told them that the people of Erin Osun, Orolu, Egbedore are the one suffering because they don't know if the road belongs to Federal government or not. So they helped us to get to the contractor and we discovered that he had an issue with Osun government in 2006 so we resolved the issue so that he can get back to work. I am happy to tell you that we have brought the federal government to support and revise that contract. As I speak from Lameco through Agunbe Elewo, construction work is in progress..We need collaborating efforts from donor agencies and the Federal government."

Of particular interest are questions and suggestions put forward by Honourable Babatunde Desmond Ojo to Engr. Remi Omowaiye which was corroborated by Rt. Honourable Timothy Owoeye to throw more light on the current situation of the Ilesa - Osogbo road despite being a Federal road.

The Nominee answered that the bad stretch around Idominasi is about 350m and he is meeting with the contractor soonest in order to bring succour to the users.

On the question on issue of unemployment, that Remi Omowaiye referred to as a great challenge, he said; "I discover in West Africa and some part of Southern Africa like Zambia, Zimbabwe and even South Africa people are no longer using clay bricks to build their houses. I have discovered that we are richly blessed with clay in the State of Osun. And because I am an Ijesa man I know most of houses in those days were built with clay and this are standing for over a century. So, we have researched into it in the Ministry of Works. We ha discovered that there is a place in Ife North that the late governor of the old Oyo State, Chief Bola Ige had plans to build as clay factory. We are working on this for one reason. Apart from creating job for lots of people, by the time we start building our houses with burnt bricks, we would be a different state and other states can emulate us."
