The Speaker of the State of Osun House or Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye has described the State as the most peaceful state in Nigeria and that the people are very hospitable as he lauded Governor Gboyega Oyetola on his proactive measures at securing lives and properties of the citizens.
He made the remark while welcoming the the new Zonal Controller of Federal Fire Service FFS for Osun, Ondo and Ekiti, the Assistant Controller Olatunde Obisesan who was on courtesy visit to his office on Tuesday 3rd September 2019.
Rt. Hon. Owoeye pointed out that the State of Osun government is presently upgrading and building new Fire Service Stations in most of the cities of the State. He however frowned at the situation where recent fire outbreak incidences that were recorded in State have not witnessed notable intervention from the State Fire Stations. He also called for the provision of toll free emergency call line for Fire Service Department.
While addressing the Osun number three citizen, Assistant Controller Olatunde Obisesan promised to ensure a reduced response time to fire emergencies in the State. He said the State of Osun Department of FFC willh soon take possession of two (2) modern fire fighting trucks and equipment as well as digital applications and enhance effective service operations.
“We will soon take delivery of two fire fighting trucks and other equipment. We have developed an application that enables us track the location of a fire incident easily once you call us through the software application called FASAPP that will soon be made available to whosoever is interested at having it installed on his/her phone." The Zonal Controller said. He was accompanied by the Deputy Superintendent of Fire (DSF), Mrs. B. O. Komolafe, DSF A are Akeem, Chief Fire Inspector (CFI) Emmanuel Oni.
Also present with the OSHA Speaker in his office were Hon. Kunle Akande,Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Elizabeth Abioye that represents Ifedayo State Constituency and Hon. Wale Adedoyin that represents Ilesa West State Constituency.
