Osun Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement Agency to Generate N54m Revenue Amidst Mirage of Constraints

The  Executive Vice Chairman of Osun State Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement Agency, Mrs Dupe Ajayi-Gbadebo yesterday said her agency is set to generate an estimate of N54 million in the year 2020.

Addressing members of the State of Osun House of Assembly Finance and Appropriation Committee headed by Hon. Taiwo Adebayo-Olodo yesterday 9th December, 2019 as she stood to defend the budget proposal of her Agency for  2020 fiscal year, Mrs Gbadebo highlighted some of the problems the O'signage is facing.

"Lagos State having LASAA as the second largest revenue generating source, the same thing can be done here, the estimate of N54 million can be doubled if we have all the necessary facilities, we don't even have an operational vehicle or running cost, we go out in hired "korope". Hopefully we believe we are going to get some equipments this year". Mrs. Gbadebo said.

The agency is saddled with the responsibility of regulating and controlling outdoor advertising and signage displays in the State of Osun.

In his contribution, Hon. Kunle Akande appreciated the efforts of the agency in the area of revenue generation for the state and identified the need to generate a memo that will compel the Executive arm of government to see how important the agency is, as a viable revenue source for the state. " There is nothing stopping Osun from being as efficient as Lagos in the area of signage and I am aware that the failures being experienced by O'signage are being hampered because they don't have the wherewithal. It may be necessary for a member of the exco to initiate a memo or compel the exco to see the need for the agency to have the vehicles, trucks, personnel and even the Policemen that will accompany them on some of their operations". He submitted.
