The Elemure of Ibokun, Oba Festus Awogboro led the Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee members at a thanksgiving service, on Sunday 15th December 2019, one of the laid out programs of the 2019 edition of the rebranded Iwude Ijesa festival celebration. The service was held at the St. Peter's Anglican Church, Ibokun, Obokun Local Government of the State of Osun.
The Iwude Ijesa committee members presence in the church coincided with the church's choir anniversary which has Sacrifice of Praise" as its theme. Ven. E. O. Odekanle, the vicar of the church preached at the service where he used Psalms 116 verse 12 to elaborate on the topic "What Shall We Give Back to God for His Goodness on Us".
Chief. Afolabi Igbaroola speaking to the congregation elaborated that the rebranded Iwude Ijesa is not a celebration of voodoo or gods but the coming together of Ijesa sons and daughters at home at abroad to socialize, celebrate and deliberate on the progress of the land.
