One of the popular saying of a great scholar:  Sheryl Sandberg says "Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence" will be best to describe Engr. Remi Omowaiye, Commissioner for Works and Transport in the state of Osun as he restored light back to the Ikoti community of Ilesa West Local Government of the State of Osun, Nigeria.

The attention of Engr. Omowaiye was called to the 500 KVA Transformer in Ikoti, Ilesa which could no longer supply electricity as a result of damaged Cables called "Incoming Cable and Uprizer Cable".. These are the Most expensive cables attached to any electricity transformer in Nigeria.

On Thursday, 9th of January, Omowaiye promised the people of the affected area that the transformer will be fixed and all the damaged cables will be replaced as soon as possible. On that day a meeting was held between Engr. Omowaiye, Hon. Taiwo Ogunmokun Councilor representing Ward 6 and a Youth leader Dele Olokose where he directed the duo to get a PHCN official to check the transformer and list out the necessary materials for the repair of the transformer immediately.

A report was forwarded to Commissioner for works, Engr. Remi Omowaiye on the materials needed as recommended by the officials of PHCN on Monday 13th, January, 2020.

An arrangement was made to get the 500KVA transformer fixed as the amount needed for the cables replacement was released single handedly by the Honorable Commissioner for Works and transport, Engr. Omowaiye.

Those cables were bought, Fixed and light was Restored back to the Ikoti Community courtesy of  the intervention and uncommon gesture of Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye.
