PhotoNews: Amiel Fagbulu Laid to Rest






The city of Ilesa in the State of Osun, Friday 21st February, 2020, witnessed an unprecedented number of dignitaries who came from all walks of life to bid one of Nigeria's educational icon, late Dr Amiel Modupe Fagbulu, farewell. Fagbulu, 94, who was a consummate educationist lived his entire life for the provision of quality education. He was integral to the evolution of the post-independence education outlook and national policies, having worked hand in glove with Federal Government and agencies like UNESCO, UNICEF, The World Bank, Ford Foundation and USAID, among others.

Thousands of people, both high and low came from all over the country and abroad to witness his burial.

Top State of Osun government officials, scholars, educators, diplomats, community leaders and prominent businessmen attended the burial.


The funeral arrangements started on Wednesday 19th February, 2020 with a Service of Song organized at his Aralopon, Ilesa residence by the Iloro, Ilesa Cathedral of Saint John's Young Men, a church society that Late Pa Fagbulu was a member while alive.




His body arrived his residence for Lying in State by mid-day on Thursday 20th February, 2020 and the Christian Wake took place in the evening at TADASH CITI, Colosseum, Irojo, Ilesa

Dignitaries gathered on Friday 21st February, 2020 for the Funeral and Thanksgiving Service at St. John's Anglican Cathedral Church, Iloro, Ilesa and the Reception Party followed immediately at Zenababs Half Moon Resort, Ijebu-Ijesa road, Ilesa.
