Ilesa East Ward 10 APC Gather to Show Compassion for “The Least”- A Man Born Lame

Disabled people in most parts of the world struggle to survive. Sadly, their needs are often overlooked or even ignored by the people in their locality , hence they live in poverty and isolation. They lack simple mobility and are often hidden away in back bedrooms because of fear and prejudice.

In many parts of Nigeria, the only income a disabled person has is by begging, hoping that as a beggar he or she will evoke sympathy from passers-by.

On Saturday 14th March, 2020, the Exco members of the All Progressives Congress of Ward 10 A and B of Ilesa East Local Government decided to share compassion with Mr. Tope Adebiyi, (a shoemaker with disability) and his family.

Hon. Sogo Ale, the Secretary for Youth, Market and Sanitation, who by providence has come across the beneficiary struggling to cross the ever busy Ijofi-Bolorunduro road, moved with compassion organized the meeting as his little contribution at helping to advance the agenda of the party, especially by donating the wheelchair.

Crippled Tope Adeniyi was invited to take possession of the wheelchair at the meeting held at about 11am at the United Middle School, Bolorunduro, Ilesa. Also in attendance were the mother, the wife and the young child of the beneficiary.

The leadership of APC, Ilesa East was also well represented. In attendance were the APC Chairman, Ilesa North East LCDA, Hon. Ayo Ogunyemi, the Vice-chairman APC, Ilesa East LG, Hon. Olojo, the Chairman APC, Ilesa East Ward 10, Hon. Oluwole Adelowokan and Hon. Sanmi Oke and many others.
