Oyetola Assents Osun Security Agency and Amotekun Establishment Law

The recently passed State of Osun Security Agency and Amotekun Corps establishment bill will become law as the Governor of the state, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola will today Friday 13th March, 2020, give assent to it.

The Speaker of the state, Rt. Hon Timothy Owoeye in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Alabi has confirmed that the signing of the bill to law will take place today.

The bill having gone through needed legislative procedure was passed with some ammendments and corrections.

The Amotekun Corps law will from Friday ensures that offenders be identified by Corps and duly registered by the police and other relevant security agencies and that the office of the Attorney General of the state be notified of such identification and arrest.

The Corps commander will be appointed by the  governor with the  confirmation of the Assembly.

The law had it that there shall be Area command of the Amotekun Corps in each of the Federal constituencies of the state.

The Amotekun Corps law have in it that a registered resident of the state upon the presentation of National identity card, Voters card or the Omoluabo card may be eligible for enlistment as a member of the Corps.
