The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Productivity in the State of Osun Chief Adedayo Adewole on Friday, 3rd April, 2020 distributed food items to his constituents of Ilesa East Local Government, to cushion the effects of the stay-at-home order given by the state government to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
Prince Yemi Haastrup, who represented him came with gaari, beans, salt and crates of eggs to the constituents across the 11 wards of Ilesa East Local Government and Ilesa North East Local Council Development Area.
Adewole donated over 180 already packed gaari, beans and salt. He also made available some crates of eggs.
The Commissioner, while presenting the items through his Personal Assistant, urged the people to cooperate with the government by abiding by all the measures taken to curtail the spread of the disease as he appeal to the people to always listen to the sensitisation programmes of the government against the deadly coronavirus pandemic and the precautionary measures to adhere to.
He enjoined the people to maintain social distancing, regular hand washing and use of hand sanitizers as precautionary measures put in place to fight the spread of the pandemic.
Two of the beneficiaries appreciated the Commissioner for the gesture, saying it would go a long way in cushioning the effects of the stay-at-home directive.
They said the palliative was timely, and thanked him for having them at heart in his welfare package for the society.
