Governor, State of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, has lauded the Osun State legislature for what he termed landmark achievements recorded by the parliament, within the last 365 days of legislative activities.
He said the legislative arm of government have displayed enviable democratic ethos worthy of emulation by other state houses of assembly across Nigeria .
The governor gave the commendation on Saturday at a special prayer session organised to mark the 1st year anniversary of the 7th Assembly held at the speaker's quarters in Osogbo.
Oyetola, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Benedict Alabi, said the executive arm of government would ensure that the harmonious relationship existing between the two organs of government is continuously sustained .
He maintained that the first 365 days of legislative activities of the 7th assembly is worthy of celebration, considering the cordial relationship and the relative peace being enjoyed in the house and the state in general.
He said : This 7th assembly has been a tremendous partner with us as executive in the progressive agenda of dear government .
"We thank you for the cordial relationship existing between you and the executive, as we look forward for more harmonious relationship", Oyetola said.
Speaking on the gains already recorded by the state in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic currently ravaging the entire world, Governor Oyetola appreciated the good people of the state for their support and obedience to the directive by the government
He added:" I want to thank the people of Osun for the support in our efforts to combat the ravaging Covid-19 by complying with guildlines and measures put in place to prevent the spread of deadly disease in Osun.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Osun House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Timothy Owoeye , thanked the government and the entire state for their prayers and support within the space of one year of legislative activities in the seventh assembly.

Owoeye praised Governor Oyetola for the synergy between the two arms of government, especially in the area of execution and implemention of laws made by the state assembly.
He noted that the seventh assembly would continue to make laws that would be of immense benefit to the citizenry.
Pastor Muyiwa Ayeni, who is the Chaplain, Osun House of Assembly enjoined the 7th assembly to continue to live in peace and to remain committed to the wellbeing of the masses.
In the same vein, the state Secretary, Association of United Imams, Imam Abdullahi Olohunlomerue, charged the lawmakers to put God first in their legislative dealings
He prayed Allah to continue to uphold them with the wisdom and knowledge require to take Osun to greater heights.
Olohunlomerue, who read several injunctions from the Holy Quran to buttress his message said OSHA must continue to show good example by making laws that would be of great benefits and growth to the State.
Also, Prophet E. O Robert of Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Oke-Iro, Ilesa said the Speaker of the House of Assembly and his colleagues must let the word of God be their lamb and their light in carrying out legislative duties.
" You must not forget the citizens who voted for you. You must ensure that you provide the necessary amenities required for development," Robert said .
Those attended the programme include Principal Officers, lawmakers, management and staff of the state house of Assembly and the house of Assembly commission, as well as religious leaders.
