Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has warned against discrimination in the selection of beneficiaries for the Federal Government Special Public Works, SPW.
Keyamo, in a tweet on Saturday, lamented that some States’ Selection Committee was considering only indigenes for the job.
The Minister explained that anyone who is resident in any Local Government Area, LGA GA in the country, irrespective of tribe, is qualified for selection.
“We understand some States’ Selection Committees are considering only indigenes for the 774,000 jobs. That’s unacceptable,” Keyamo said.
“Anyone resident in any LGA in the country, irrespective of tribe, is qualified. It is one country that we all live in. The NDE coordinators should note."
He said the job scheme is not for members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
