The Task Force on COVID-19 in the State of Osun has commenced enforcement of total lockdown in four local government areas of the State as part of efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.

As part of the enforcement exercise, the Task Force led by the state commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Matters, Prince Yekini Adeleke, Special Adviser to the State Governor on Security, Mrs. Abiodun Ige and some Chairmen of the affected Councils was in Ilesa and Osu to inspect the level of compliance as they moved around in a convoy comprising of security operatives. Road blocks were mounted in the axis to prevent vehicular movements, based on the guidelines set by the State Government.
Also, the enforcement team combed towns and streets in the affected areas to turn people back to their homes in compliance with the government's directives.

The precision lockdown shall be in force for one week in the first instance.
