Ilesa East APC Receives Decampees from SDP, PDP.....Owoeye assures new members of equal rights

 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilesa East Local Government has received decampees as two prominent members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr Gbenga Omoniyi aka T&K and the former Chairman of Ilesa East Local Government, Chief Niyi Oyeleye, as well as a member of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) , Mrs Olusola Asabi and their teaming followers were received into the APC fold on Sunday 16th August, 2020 at a reception that took at the Fadahunsi Avenue residence of Leader Kunle Odeyemi, the Ijesaland APC leader.

Receiving the new members , the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, expressed his conviction that only the APC at all levels of governance could help to actualize the yearnings of the people as he task them to contribute their quota toward ensuring the party's victory at all polls.

Owoeye also assured the new members of equal rights with other members of the party, as he tasked them to use their social statues to garner more support for the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Also speaking, the party Chairman In Ilesa East, Chief Idowu Korede lauded the decampees for joining the progressives , urging them to acquaint themselves with the party’s constitution and shun any act that could threaten the existing peace and unity of the party.

Chief Niyi Oyeleye who claimed to have defected in to the APC with all his followers, said he was convinced that the APC truly represents the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians and that their defection was informed by the APC's overwhelming and people oriented programmes and projects.

The decampees later swore to the oath of allegiance administered by the party leader in ijesaland, Chief Odeyemi and Mr Gbenga Omoniyi of T & K Motors fame donated a branded campaign van to the party and promised to use his influence to mobilize support for the party in future elections.

The programme was attended by prominent leaders of Ijesa South APC including Member House of Representatives, Hon Babatunde Ayeni, Osun APC Treasurer who also doubles as the state's commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Hon. Segun Olanibi, Hon. Akeem Adesoji Olowoopejobori, Council Chairman, Ilesa East, Hon. Folarin Fafowora, council Chairma, Ilesa West Central and APC stalwarts as well as members of Ijesa Motor dealers association and Hoteliers .
