Owoeye Calls on APC Leadership of Oriade LG to set Aside Internal Differences as Desmond Ojo Presents Two Borehole Projects

The Speaker of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye on Thursday 27th August 2020, called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oriade Local Government to set aside internal differences and team together for the unity of the ruling party. "The festering crises in the Oriade local government APC, which trailed the last election, widened cracks and contributed to the poor performance of the party in the area."

Owoeye said this while commissioning two water borehole projects strategically located at the Bankemo garage, Ipetu Ijesa and Ijebu Ijesa market donated by Hon. Desmond Babatunde Ojo, member of Osun House of Assembly representing Oriade state Constituency, the only elected political office holder of the APC in Ijesa North Federal Constituency. 

Also while addresing the gathering, the donor recounted his stewardship as a representative of his people in the last one year. "I have been privileged to represent Oriade. With respect to representation, I have been a very loud voice for the development of my people within the chambers of the House.

"In terms of law making, I have raised different motions on matters on urgent public importance and submitted three different bills for passage into law and I have always contributed robustly to different debates on the floor of the House.

"Within this one year in office, I have offered  over 12 new employments to beneficiaries in Oriade, provided 24 technical college scholarship, influence over 24 vocational employments to constituents and sponsored 60 Free JAMB UTME forms to indigent students. Opened two constituency offices and friendship centres in Ijebu Ijesa and Ipetu Ijesa and equally provided an ATM gallery at ward 11 , distributed relief materials, fund and food to over 1000 beneficiaries during the COVID-19 imposed lockdown." Desmond Ojo said.

Hon. Desmond Babatunde Ojo, a first timer, is the Chairman of the Osun Assembly House Committee on Land, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Deputy Chairman of the House committee on Health and member of the Committee on Works, Committee on Women Affairs, Committee on Media and other Ad-hoc committees of the House and he is making impact in terms of legislative oversight on the Executive and Government.

Present at the gathering were the Oba Risa of Iloko, High Chief Sola Ogunsanya, the Chairman Feg Agro Farms, Otunba Emiola Ogunsanya, one time Osun commissioner for Finance, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, Hon. Bunmi Obeisun, Hon. Aboge, the olori of Ajalaye Samson Adeleke Agunbiade and some members of Osun House of Assembly to mention just a few.
