Governor Oyetola Commends L. B. Ayeni Foundation's Empowerment Program

The Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has commended Hon. L. B. Ayeni for his commitment to the socio-economic well-being of the youth of Ijesa South Federal Constituency that he (Hon. L. B. Ayeni) represents at the Federal House of Representatives, particularly in the area of youth empowerment aimed at reducing the growing level of unemployment in the country. 

He made this assertion on Saturday 28th November 2020 at Ilesa while delivering his goodwill remarks at the 8th Edition of Matriculation/Graduation Empowerment Scheme hurriedly put together by the foundation to honor the performing State Governor as he celebrated two years of undisputable success in office.

Governor Oyetola appealed to the beneficiaries to seize the opportunity to impact positively on the economy of their various homes as he urged them to know that the skills that they have learnt can take them to places they never expected if they put them into good use.

The Foundation has trained the 8th set of about a thousand trainees in thirteen different vocations, presented them for graduation with required tools, some others were given cash gifts to boost their trade and ceremony also witnessed the matriculation of new trainees into various departments. In addition, trainees teachers and resource persons were given cheques.

Also speaking at the program, Hon. L. B. Ayeni mentioned that the empowerment program ought to have taken place before the unfortunate outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

"The limitations occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent ENDSARS protest have made it difficult for optimal performance , however, from now I shall speed up the process of touching more lives by ensuring that this Empowerment Program shall hold on quarterly basis every year and will also be further expanded to accommodate other areas." He said.

The Empowerment Scheme featured graduands under Tailoring, Tie and Dye, Make-up/Cosmetics, Shoemaking, Barbing, Soap and Candle Making and others.

Also grinding machines and financial grants were given to selected All Progressives Congress (APC) members across the political wards of Ijesa South Federal Constituency.

Dignitaries that witnessed the occasion included the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, CFR, LLM, Mr. Benedict Gboyega Alabi, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, Prince Gboyega Famodun, Leader Kunle Odeyemi, Dr. Charles Akinola, Elder Lowo Adebiyi, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, Comrade Amitolu Shitu, Hon. Wale Adedoyin, Hon. Akeem Adesoji Olowoopejobori, Hon. Remi Omowaiye, Hon. Richard Tinubu, Hon. Bosun Oyintiloye.

Many groups and APC supporters were also at occasion.
