Obeisun Refutes Diversion of N193m into His Personal Account






The Chairman of Oriade Local Government Area, in Osun State, Hon. Olubunmi Obeisun, has refuted allegation of diverting a sum of N193 million to his personal account, purportedly brought about by a Non-governmental organization Centre for Transparency in Governance that has accused him in a petition dated November 6, 2020.


The NGO in publication  circulated online, accused the Chairman of non-transparency, illegal contracting of road grading without approvals, diversion of funds and non-remittance of income into government accounts, illegal service of loans with Internally Generated Revenue (GR) of the local government.


Obeisun accused some politicians in the area of fabricating false story to smear his character and reputation.


While presenting an audio recording of a threat by an anonymous caller using telephone number 07043903464, the Chairman said: "Some politicians who are aspiring for political offices must be behind this allegations.

"They felt I am not supporting their candidatures.

"The allegations are baseless and inflammatory in nature."


Obeisun challenged anybody who wanted to see how the Council is being run to approach him for verification and authentication, as he made it known that he doesn't have that sum of money in his personal account.
