Power outage in Ilerin Ijesa: Ilesa East LG on rescue mission






Sequel to the request for assistance made by the high power delegation of the people of Ilerin Ijesa community to the administration of Ilesa East Local Government recently, the residents of the community heaved a sigh of relief on Wednesday 11th of November, 2020, as they received financial assistance as donation from the Local Government  for the upgrading and redistribution of the community's electrification.


Welcoming parliamentarians and the administrative staff of the local government  to Ilerin community, the Chairman of the community Mr. Omobayoje Olusesi explained how the community that has now expanded to nine zones is suffering from epileptic electricity supply hence the need to approach the council for provision of cables and poles for the redistribution of electricity to all parts of the community.


Chief Idowu Korede former Osun commissioner for Sanitation and Environment and a long time resident of the community hinted that the move to redistribute and upgrade the community's electricity network is historic as the electrification project was initiated by the AD government under Baba Bisi Akande as the governor of Osun state.

The Chairman of the Council, Hon. Otunba Akeem Adesoji Olowoopejobori, in his  address appreciated the love of Chief Idowu Korede for the community and the support of the community for the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) as he called for more robust cooperation from the electorates of the community in future electoral processes. He later presented a cheque to the representatives of the community present.


The Council Manager, Mr. T. O. Oginni noted at the occasion that it is expected of the Council to respond to the distress call of the community and that the Ilerin community electricity redistribution project is one of the projects set aside for all the Wards of Ilesa East Local Government and it is the Council's Works Department that will supervise execution of the project.
