It was celebration all the way at the assembly ground of Methodist High School, Ilesa, as Hon. Ademola Philips Sunday a.k.a. Padma the Chairman of the Ilesa West Local Government Education Authority L.G.E.A decided to reward a student, Miss. Omoniyi Eniola, the School Head Girl for her courteousness at public speaking and confidence building having impressed him when she granted an interview to the press crew that followed Honorable Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye when he visited the school recently.

Presenting a chronometer to Miss. Omoniyi the LGEA boss said: "Anytime I'm in a gathering like this, I'm always delighted seeing our students of public school doing wonderfully well. It is a challenge to me to look to the development of Education which has been one of the priorities of the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Hon. Ademola Philips further said that he has realized that a little award outside the awards for academic achievement that are built into the school year can go a long way to motivate students.
Addressing the assembly, the School Principal, Mrs C. A. Adagunodo, implored the students to be good ambassadors of Methodist High School, Ilesa anywhere they may find themselves.
The recipient while receiving the award showed her appreciation to the donor and her teachers. "And to the students, I really want to advise you that being delligent is good, stay in your classes and always be punctual." Miss Omoniyi said.
The event witnessed the presence of some board members of Ilesa LGEA that included Hon. Alaba Tijani. Hon. Mrs. Risikat Oladele and Hon. Dele Olokose.
