Hon. Busuyi Makanjuola, the newly sworn in Caretaker Committee Chairman of Atakumosa Central Local Government, Iwara, State of Osun and the Council Manager are in a frosty relationship.
The Council boss had claimed that Mr. Olatunde Oluleti, the Council Manager (CM) takes decision without recourse to the office of the Chairman and the Caretaker Committee even after they have been sworn in to supervise the activities of the Council.
In a swift reaction to the claim of the Council Manager that the Caretaker Secretary, Hon. Kola Omoniyi sponsored thugs to beat him up, the Chairman described the insinuation as mischievous and deliberate attempt to rubbish the ruling party's decision to institute a caretaker committee administration in the state.
In a conversation with our correspondent at kakakiOodua.com, Hon. Makanjuola stated that the Council Manager has teamed up with mischief makers and political detractors to ensure that they sow seeds of discord between the ruling party's administration and the people.
The Chairman while speaking on behalf of other committee members said; "Our attention has been drawn to a post on the social media platforms orchestrated by Mr. Oluleti, the Council Manager of Atakumosa East Central LCDA. Ordinarily, the Committee would have ignored the report and remain taciturn, but silent is consent.
" We are therefore using this medium to express our side of the story. The Council Manager has refused to present the income and expenditure account of the Council upon official demand by the Chairman and it took a personal interaction of the Chairman and Bank Management to know the records of financial transactions between the Council Manager and Bank. To the surprise of the Chairman when he eventually got a copy of the Statements of Account of the Council, he observed that the CM continues to make frivolous withdrawal from the Council 's account without the consent of the Caretaker Committee even after they have been sworn in.
"In the course of our inaugural meeting with Career Officers, we also observed that the CM was owing the Casual Workers four months salary and refused to pay for some services rendered by labourers. To our dismay some youth showed up at the meeting demanding to be paid by the CM.
Reacting to the claim of the Council Manager that " the concern of the people in the State was the failure of the Osun State government to conduct an election to bring in a democratically elected government to man the affairs of Osun State Local Government which has become the tradition in Osun State since the era of ACN) APC since 2010 when Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola took over from PDP administration under the leadership of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola." The Committee members pledge their loyalty to the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola stressing that no amount of cheap blackmail would deter them from working for the common good of the good people of Atakumosa Central LCDA.
" We are not just loyal to His Excellency, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, Governor State of Osun, but also we are committed to his second term re-election.". He concluded.
