Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijeshaland, His Royal Majesty Oba Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR, LLD, on Monday turned the sod as a symbolic start for the building of the permanent Secretariat of Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee at the Owa Obokun Adimula Palace square.

Speaking at the brief ceremony, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran charged the Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee members who will be handling the construction to emulate the Owa Adimula Palace Building Committee which expended just nine months to build and hand over the keys of the magnificent new palace as he advised that the new Secretariat should be completed in a maximum period of six months.
Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, the Vice Chairman of the 2021 Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee who led other members of the committee who were with him at the visit to the Ilesa office of the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps where he received an urgent call from the palace described the as historical because hitherto, the Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee Secretariat has been operating from a rented apartment.
The historic foundation laying ceremony had in attendance Chief Afolabi Igbaroola , Hon Akintola Akinyele, Prince Isaac Haastrup, Prince Benson Adegbola, Mr. Oladimeji Lasore and Mrs Bunmi Ogunniyi.
The annual Iwude Ijesa Festival kick starts Tuesday 7th December, 2021 with the meeting Clubs and Societies at Oba Adekunle Aromolaran Civic Centre by 11am.
