The Kings from Osun Countryside have been plunged into mourning after the death of their patron, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, who joined his ancestors on Friday.
The press release jointly signed by the Network of Kings from Osun Countryside's Chairman Board of Trustees, Oba (Prof) Adekunle Adeogun-Okunoye, the Eburu of Iba and the President, Oba (Dr.) Ojarotade Adewale, Alaa of Ilaa Ijesa described the late Alaafin as a symbol of tradition norms and values of Yoruba people.
The release further stated that the love that the late Alaafin had for all Yoruba towns and their monarchs contributed to peaceful coexistence and harmony among royal fathers in Yorubaland and that his support as the patron of Network of Kings from Osun Countryside brought significant development to the organization that is presently grieved and shocked about the news of his transition because the members always had affection for their departed patron.
