Traditional rulers ín Atakumosa East Local Government Area of Osun State have keyed into the efforts of Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee to advance development in Ijesaland through unity.
The traditional rulers made their resolve during a meeting with members of the planning committee at Ayegbaju Ijesa.
The Chairman of the traditional council In the Local Government Area, the Alamo of Ayegbaju, Ijesa, Oba Abideen Adeyemi noted that the olive branch offered by the committee has opened a new chapter in the history of Ijesaland .
Oba Adeyemi expressed the readiness of the Atakumosa East traditional council to work with the paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Dr Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran CFR, LLD to restore the glory of Ijesaland.
In a remark, the Alapa of Itaapa, ọba Alexander Kujembola said with the new waves of unity blowing over the geographical entity called Ijesaland, the people should expect rapid transformation, as the Owa Obokun identified with the traditional rulers as their paramount leader.

Oba Kujembola eulogised the planning committee for maximizing the potentials of the Annual festival to tighten the strain of unity bounding the Ijesa people together.
Earlier, the Vice Chairman of the planning committee, chief Afolabi Igbaroola told the traditional rulers that the committee was constituted by the Owa Obokun to extend olive branch to all Obas in Ijesaland to provoke social and economic development.
Chief Igbaroola highlighted the gains of unity in the land to include the multi million naira Owa’s palace , the Ijesa Geriatric Hospital and the ongoing youth empowerment scheme.
He urged the custodians of tradition to be clad in an elegant uniform to add glamor to the annual festival of unity.
On the Ilesa University, Chief Igbaroola hinted that the institution was structured in such a way that gives no room for unnecessary elongation of academic session and industrial action as the law establishing it does not recognize unionism.
