Ijesa Leaders Laud Oyetola on his Forthrightness, Sincerity and Truthfulness (Video clips and photos)

Ijesa leaders on Wednesday 23rd November, 2022, rose in unison to express their profound gratitude to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for giving them a University that they desiderated over 40 years, saying that the gesture is unprecedented in the history of the people.

They said that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in his forthrightness, sincerity, truthfulness and peaceful disposition gave Ijesaland the platform to be counted as a city hosting a university.

Ijesa people, speaking through Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, made the remarks when they paid a thank-you visit to the governor at the Government Office, Abere, Osogbo.

Led by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran II, the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, the delegation comprised of traditional rulers, High chiefs, leaders of Ijesa forum and representatives of Ijesa Clubs and societies, the Ijesa people disclosed that they are major beneficiaries of Gov. Gboyega Oyetola's administration of the state as Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi narrated the age long desire of the Ijesa people to have a university.

The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, who expressed his feeling of being utterly delighted and happy, heartily prayed for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his family.

In his response, governor Adegboyega Oyetola appreciated the community efforts of Ijesa people as he highlighted the developmental projects embarked upon by the people that amazed him while referring specifically to the new ultramodern palace and the Ijesaland Geriatric Centre as he enjoined the community to take full ownership of the university in terms of cooperation and support.

The gathering at the Exco Chamber of the Government Office included Prof. Olu Aina, the Chairman of University of Ilesa implementation committee, Chief Wande Akinola, Sawe of Ilesa, Chairman UniIlesa Consultative Committee and leader of Ijesa forum, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, the Speaker, Osun House of Assembly, Dr. Charles Diji Akinola, Chief of Staff to the governor, and good number of the executive cabinet members.
