Hon. Ajibola Israel FAMUREWA, FNSE, has expressed his profound gratitude to God Almighty and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for fielding him as the party's candidate for Osun East Senatorial District. He revealed his heartfelt appreciation to the leaders of the party at meetings held in Ile Ife, Ilesa and Iwaraja respectively.
Famurewa categorically stated that he considered the unanimous decision of the party on his candidature as "a rare privilege and great honor," and reaffirmed his determination not to let the party down in anyway.
While in Ile Ife, he met the leaders of the party at Pa Sooko Adewoyin's House at a meeting well attended by Hon. Bamisayemi, Jamiu Olawunmi, Alhaji Rasheed Alade, Mr. Omolade Binuyo and a host of other notable and well respected leaders. Pa Adewoyin in his brief remarks described Hon. Famurewa as "a well groomed progressive, peace loving gentleman and diligent achiever who can be relied upon for service delivery".
The leaders who were present were charged to double their efforts and work very hard in order to achieve victory at the polls. Hon. Bamisayemi who spoke in same line with Pa Sooko Adewoyin, urged leaders and members of the party to wake up and be more determined than ever to revamp the party using the advantage of the candidature of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as presidential candidate to mobilize and sensitize the electorates.
All the candidates of the party including Benjamin Adereti for House of Representatives, Adeyeye Olajide Martins (Ife East), Awotidiye Rufus(Ife North), Adejobi Adeyinka Johnson (Ife Central), and Oyewunmi Najeem (Ife South) were presented to the party leaders by Famurewa for leaders' special blessings; and Adejobi Adeyinka Johnson, thanked the leaders on behalf of all the candidates.
At Ilesa, Hon. Famurewa met with the leaders of the party at Elder Kunle Odeyemi House. The meeting, described as an interactive session with the party candidates lasted for more than four hours. The party's weaknesses and strength were identified with resolutions to rejuvenate the party in all ramifications.
Famurewa who was the immediate past chairman of the state SUBEB was filled with gratitude and asked the leaders to work together for the success of the party in the presidential, national and state assemblies elections.
Hon. Lawrence Ayeni, the House of Representatives candidate, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, and Hon. Festus Komolafe respectively candidates for Ilesa East, Atakumosa East and Ilesa West state Constituencies were at the meeting where it was resolved that a strong campaign committee at the federal constituency level should be set up and the party leaders in each local government directed to put in place similarly strong campaign committees at local and ward levels, with a charge to ensure that the candidates visit all the wards and polling units in the course of their electioneering campaigns.
Another Meet-the-Constituents event that held at Iwaraja in Oriade local government council area, attracted party stakeholders, men and women of unalloyed loyalty to the party.
Speaking, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa requested the party leadership in the constituency to work assiduously for the victory of the party in the presidential, national and state legislative polls in the constituency.
Honourables Seun Odofin and Desmond Ojo, respectively the party's candidates for House of Representatives and State Assembly made passionate appeals to the party leaders in the constituency to work round the clock, untiringly and win quality votes for the party in the forthcoming national and state elections.
Famurewa lauded the collapse of The Osun Progressives (ToP) faction of the party, saying the larger the party, the merrier. He asked the now bigger Osun APC in the constituency to show corresponding electoral strength in the presidential, national and state assembly elections. He enjoined the party's stakeholders and others to do physical mobilization of the party members, supporters and general electorate for the elections.
The APC stakeholders at the consultation with the constituency lambasted the party people who worked secretly for the opposition party in the last July Governorship election in the state, and directed the moles to rework themselves away from the despicable act.
The event was not to be clicking of glasses as curses were openly rained without let on any tendencies to betray the party's electoral fortunes in the next election outings in the state. And the victorious candidates who are wont to alienate the constituents after elections were not speared of curses, with the Holy Writ's stance on betrayal, copiously quoted.
Meanwhile, Famurewa continues his electioneering campaigns with visits to wards.
