Photos and Video Clips from CAN Ile-Ife Chapters' New Year Prayers Grand Finale...Ooni Ogunwusi Acknowledges God's Wonders as Famurewa and Adereti donate towards Ecumenical Centre's project




 


The Ooni of Ife, Oonirisa Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has called on Christians to inculcate the habit of giving thanks in all circumstances.




Ooni Ogunwusi gave the advice on Saturday at the grand finale of the New Year prayer organized by Christian Associatiin of Nigeria ,(CAN), Ile-ife chapters, held at Enuwa in Ile-Ife. The program was also attended by Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Osun East Senatorial zone and Hon. Benjamin Adereti, also the APC candidate Federal House of Representatives for Ife Federal Constituency, at the forthcoming national assembly elections.





Flanked by three of his new queens, Ooni remarked that at 2022 edition of the grand finale he was overwhelmed and down but he used the occasion to pour his complaints before God.

“When I look back, I observe that my life is full of God’s wonders and miracles despite all challenges faced, but today, the Lord gave me victory over them all.


"Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have bestowed on my life. You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined. You have surrounded me with worthy people to always assist me with the callings of the throne." Ooni acknowledged.


The highlights of the program included prayer sessions for the Royal family, Ife land, Osun state, the Christian body and an appeal for donations towards the timely completion of the Ile-ife Ecumenical Centre, an interdenominational church building.

Hon. Ajibola Famurewa and Hon. Adereti who commended the CAN for the prayers offered for the sustenance of peace in Osun also pledged their supports to enable the organisation to achieve their aim on the ecumenical centre as they made their initial financial donations.

Preaching earlier on the topic: “Quiet! Be still!”, Pastor M.A Adejumo,  the Superintendent for Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Isegun Moore District Coordinating Council (DCC), used the symbolism behind the story of Jesus calming the storm to bring great encouragement and hope for anyone facing a storm in life.



In his remarks The  Rev. Canon Sam. Leye Onitiju, the Presiding Chairman, CAN, Ile-ife chapters appreciated Ooni Ogunwusi for his support on the ecumenical centre as he appealed for more donations so as to complete the project on time.
