The Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji has threatened non-indigenes residing in Osun State to vote for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state or face the consequences that come with disobedience of his directive.
The monarch said this in a meeting involving leaders of the Hausa, Fulani, Igbira and Igbo communities on Tuesday at his palace in Osogbo.
The meeting, it was gathered, saw the presence of the leaders of the aforesaid communities to the exception of the Igbo leaders.
In reaction, the Ataoja said he was not shocked that the Igbo leaders didn’t show up as they are known to always defy his directives.
At the meeting, it was gathered that Oba Oyetunji directed all the attendees to switch off their phones, so no one could make videos and recordings of his conversations with them.
The monarch said that for any tribe or community who fail to vote for the PDP in the 2023 general elections, they will face consequences.
Oba Oyetunji had never masked his political preference for the PDP, and at a time, claimed that the PDP government installed him as the King of the land.
This brazen political leaning accounts for one of the reasons indigenes and non-indigenes of the state are unhappy with the monarch as his political bias has seen him discourage visits from other political parties’ heavyweights to the palace.
