Tweeps React as mechanic returns ₦‎10.8m ‘mistakenly’ sent to his account






A Nigerian mechanic addressed simply as Mr. Timothy has returned ₦10.8 million mistakenly sent to his bank account.

Timothy’s act of honesty and integrity has received a lot of commendations from Twitter users since the video went viral while some others slammed him for returning the money.


Popular Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, is among those who have hailed the mechanic for demonstrating true integrity and principle in the face of temptation and adversity in Nigeria.


“God bless Mr Timothy, who returned N10.8M naira that was mistakenly transferred to him. You will not lack, favour, peace and long life,” Henshaw tweeted in her reaction to the video.

In the video on Twitter, the owner of the money who happens to be a contractor was seen showing appreciation to Timothy and calling on everyone to praise him for his honesty.


The contractor Identified as Itoba, said the mechanic who repairs his car went to the bank to return the money.


He urged people who are looking for a trustworthy mechanic to seek the services of Timothy whenever they need to repair their vehicles.


In the trending clip, eyewitnesses could be seen clapping and cheering the mechanic after the contractor narrated what happened.


Despite the praises heaped on him, a Twitter user felt he should not have returned the money. Another Twitter user urged the owner to compensate Timothy with part of the money.


How much they come take compensate Timothy? Or na only to inform them say na mechanic? Timothy you do this wan 😫

I think Mr Timothy deserves more than this, even if it’s 10%…so that if something like this happens ever again, he will still have the mind to do good instead of bad..what if he doesn’t have a car but he repairs cars as a mechanic. Well his reward is from God not man
