Ijesaland Insecurity: AIG promises partnership with traditional rulers






It is no longer news that Ijesaland is facing a lot of insecurity. Hence, it is now the sole responsibility of all and sundry to ensure the safety of lives and property.


To this end, the Nigeria Police Force has reiterated its commitment to partner with any traditional ruler willing to help in achieving its statutory mandate of protecting lives and property and arresting the growing insecurity in the area.




The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), In-charge of Zone 11, Sikiru Akande, said this during a courtesy visit to HRM Oba Abideen Adeyemi, Alamo Ayegbaju ijesa Kingdom in Atakunmosa East local government, Osun State Nigeria on Wednesday.


Akande explained that the police had moved from traditional way of policing to embrace community policing, adding that traditional institutions played very major roles in peace of any society.


The visit was an official familiarisation, of the office of the AIG to work in tandem with the police by ensuring peace in Atakumosa East and the state at large.




The Alamo of Ayegbaju Ijesa was accompanied by Oba Olaoye Fayehun, the Alayegunle of Ologede, Oba Adeyoju Ajilore, the Oloke of Temidayo and Oba Adetunji Alaribifo of Aribifo.
