Less than 24 hours after the news filtered out about the death of two popular Nollywood actors, Adedigba Mukail and Saint Obi, another popular actor of Yoruba movies, Murphy Afolabi, has died on Sunday.
No details yet about the circumstances surrounding Afolabi’s death, however, a colleague of the deceased in the Yoruba subsector of the Nollywood, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, has confirmed the sad news.
Ola-Yusuf, a well-known actor, director and producer, took to his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon to mourn Afolabi.
He wrote: “REST IN PEACE…

1. Murphy was born on May 5, 1974. He clocked 49 years old in 2023.
2, The actor and producer was born in Osun State and hails from Oroki Asala in Osogbo.
3. Murphy has a Diploma in Theatre Arts and Film Production from Osun State Polytechnic in Iree. He graduated in 2001.
4. The actor was a father of three, two boys, and one girl named Afolabi Olamilekan, Afolabi Fathia Moyosore, and Okikiola Afolabi.
5. Murphy began acting at a young age. His first stint in professional acting began under the guidance of veteran actor Fasasi Olabankewin (Dagunro) in 1998.
6. The actor shot to fame following his role in the movie ‘Omo Rapala.’ Until his death, he was a well-loved producer and had multiple movies to his credit.
