PICTURES: Dignitaries, International Delegates Arrive In Abuja For Tinubu’s Inauguration






On Sunday 28th May, 2023 numerous dignitaries, representatives of foreign governments, diplomats, and heads of international organizations arrived in anticipation of Bola Tinubu’s presidential inauguration.


The United States delegation, led by Secretary Marcia Fudge of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Sunday afternoon.


The US mission officially announced their arrival on Twitter, expressing their excitement: “Welcome to Nigeria! We are excited to receive the delegation from @POTUS Biden, led by @SecFudge from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, as they join us in Abuja for the inauguration of President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”



In addition, the Canadian delegation, headed by Hussein Ahmed, the Minister for Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, has also arrived in the country to participate in the historic event.



A notable presence among the dignitaries is the presence of several African leaders. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, President Adamu Barrow of Gambia, President Denis Nguesso of Congo Brazzaville, and President Évariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi have all made their way to Nigeria for the ceremony.



Joining them are President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana, President Samia Hassan of Tanzania, and President Mahamat Déby of Chad, among others. The gathering of these distinguished leaders signifies the importance and significance of Tinubu’s inauguration.


The arrival of high-ranking officials and international dignitaries underscores the diplomatic significance of the event and demonstrates Nigeria’s standing on the global stage. It is a testament to the mutual respect and cooperative relationships fostered between nations.
