The Restoration Forum of the Ijesa South Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday brought together members of the party at a ceremony organized to honour certain categories of 2019 to 2023 political office holders both at Federal and State levels from the party for exemplary and meritorious service to the party, the state and the nation.
It was clear that some that represented the constituency at the state and at federal level were denied the entitlement of the homecoming honors because of their blatant anti-party activities.
Thus, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa from Atakumosa East local government, former Chairman, Osun State SUBEB; Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni from Ilesa West local government, former Member, House of Representatives, Ijesa South Federal Constituency; Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, from Ilesa East local government former Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Festus Komolafe, from Atakumosa West local government, ex-Member, Osun State House of Assembly, Atakumosa East/West; Hon. Charles Diji Akinola, ex-Chief of Staff, from Ilesa East local government, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, from Ilesa West local government, ex-commissioner for Works and Hon. Adedayo Adewole, from Ilesa East local government, ex-Commissioner for Agriculture were all given a rousing homecoming welcome by members of the party.
His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, the immediate past governor of Osun State who was represented by Dr. Diji Charles Akinola got a special recognition award for the establishment of University of Ilesa, reversal of the single school uniform, reversal of ‘reclassification’ of the public school system and the abolition of single-sex schools.
It was a ceremony that was largely commended because it recognized the contributions of all the awardees to the emergence of President Asiwaju Hamed Bola Tinubu as 16th President of Nigeria, especially when recently, the Osun APC was characterized by the anti party activities of some unrepentant dissidents that worked against the party (APC) in the state. Hence, there were no complaints of conspicuous omissions of the likes of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola from Ilesa East who served as Minister for Interior, Mr. Taiwo Akeju, from Atakumosa West, who served as Commissioner for Political Affairs, Mr. Segun. Olanibi, from Atakumosa East, who was the Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs and Hon. Wale Adedoyin who represented Ilesa West State Constituency at the 7th Osun State House of Assembly.
However, the event passed as a positive development at bringing life back to the party since the Supreme Court affirmed the election of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, sealing the hope of APC members to return Adegboyega Oyetola for a second term in the keenly contested 16 July 2022 poll.
The Homecoming Weekend kicked off with a football match at Ilesa Grammar School field, where Team Ilesa East faced Team Atakumosa East to specifically Hon. Babatunde Ayeni who has immensely contributed to the development of sports in Ijesaland. It was no surprise that at the match won by Atakumosa East the Unique FM ARA Station 103.1 Ilesa radio sport presenters deemed it fit to gift Hon. Ayeni a portrait of himself.
The soirée at the Oba Adekunle Aromolaran Civic Event Centre was electrifying as Ijesa South APC members and lovers of the party from other Federal Constituencies had memorable experiences during, and after the event.

The paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Dr. Adekunle Aromolaran II was represented at the occasion by the Olumelu of Imelu- Ijesa , Oba Olabode Owofade who was supported by many other chiefs.
Also, notably present at the ceremony are; Leader Kunle Odeyemi, Ijesaland APC leader, Prince O. O. Olashore aka Triple O, Otunba (Dr.) Gabriel Emiola Ogunsanya, Hon. Adebayo Taiwo Olodo, Hon. Dr Mulikat Abiola, Hon. Femi Kujembola, Hon. Folarin Fafowora, Hon. Akeem Olowoopejobori, Hon. Kola Salami to mention just a few.
