Traditional rulers of Atakumosa East Local government have commended The Ijesa Mineral Resources Development Forum (IMRDF) members over their commitment to dedication of their significant time to public enlightenment at making Ijesaland the foremost jurisdiction for Economic, Social, Cultural and Infrastructural Development through interventionist approach to mining activities and engagements with Stakeholders in the mining ecosystem.
The Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa, Tirimi of Iperindo, the Olowada of Owada and Alajido of Ajido all gave the commendations in their separate remarks on Tuesday in Ipole-Ijesa as the IMRDF continues on its public enlightenment and advocacy intervention program in Atakumosa East local government area.
The Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa, Oba Samson Kehinde Oyebade Oyeleye, who doubles as the Chairman of Atakumosa East Traditional Rulers Council and Chairman Ijesa South Traditional Rulers Council was the Chief Host at a well-attended Advocacy meeting with the main purpose of bringing about the best practices in mining, to provide for all members of the communities a safer, healthy and prosperous outcomes for community health, community land management, mining employment opportunities, community security, said, going by the. activities of the forum at recent interfaces with various groups, traditional rulers, religious organizations, youth forum, lawmakers at different locations, he has come to the realisation that the efforts have attracted development by creating awareness.
The Alajido of Ajido, Oba Adebayo Joseph Adebanjo, also used the Ipole-Ijesa advocacy meeting by the IMRDF members to appreciate all the members of the forum for their initiative to sensitize communities on their socioeconomic status vis-Ã -vis their unity and knowing what is good for them and prepare to lead the quest for it. "This initiative is a success.” He said
The Tirimi of Iperindo, Oba Isaiah Adedeji, tracing the history of Gold Mining activities in the area to the 1930s predicted that the communities have a lot to gain in collaboration with the monitoring, sensitisation and information being provided freely by the IMRDF.

Adeyemi, Oniyinta of Iyinta-Ijesa, Oba Kehinde Aladejobi, Alapaula of Apaula-Ijesa, Oba Adedapo Adewuyi, Elekure of Odogbo-Ijesa, Oba Adekanmi Adejola, Olofatedo of Ofatedo, Oba Gabriel Agunbiade, High Chief Cornelius Adeyeye, the Odofin of Iwara, High Chief Agbetoye, Bajinmo of Iyinta, Chief Reuben Oyeleye, Chief Sunday Jegede and Chief Owoeye Owolabi among others.
Also, present at the stakeholders engagement were the President, Ijesa Development Assembly, Mr. Supo Shadiya, Dr Adigun Adewoye, Mr. Foluso Adedigba, Mr. Wale Idowu.
The visitation plan continues on Thursday, June 29 at Oriade local government at Elegboro Palace, Ijebujesa by 10am.
