Will the Expansion of Kidney and Dialysis Unit of Ilesa OAUTHC Wesley Hospital, See the Light of the Day?

The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC), Wesley Guild, Ilesa is to build a Kidney and Dialysis Unit to be able to address some of the challenges facing patients suffering kidney faillater

and donors have been responding with supply of equipment that could help meet existing needs.

The Ilesa Wesley Guild  Unit of the OAUTH as of today lacks land space to accommodate new projects. With this in view, on Monday, 16th September 2019, late Obanla of Ilesa, High Chief Matthew Oyekanmi Ogedengbe allocated a 20-acre of land to the hospital for it to accommodate new health projects and future expansion . The land in question was validly donated from the Chieftaincy land by the Late Obanla of Ilesa,

Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa has a proprietary title to the 20-acre piece of land in Osun Ankara, Ilerin Area of Ilesa metropolis and medical Equipments, Hardware, and Electric Generators are being procured by Good Samaritan, Organisation for the Project but to the surprise of well meaning Ijesa sons and daughters at home and abroad, the proposed site for the establishment of the Kidney and Dialysis Hospital is being threatened by land agents.

Presently, the land is a subject of dispute between the authority of OAUTH and some indigenous Ijesa land agents who want to frustrate the Project, which may be relocated to another city, similar reason the Ijesaland lost the site for Wesley University of Science. Will History repeat itself?

All efforts to plead with the intruding agents to relocate their new tenants were rebuffed claiming that the tenants are already erecting their buildings.

The authority of the OAUTH indented the matter with the Police command and led the OAUTH officials to the site.

The Ijesa Leaders Forum also mandated some members to meet with high ranking Ijesa chiefs.

The meeting held at the Iwude Ijesa Secretariat had Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, Mr. Wale Idowu brainstormed with Ogboni of Ilesa, Oba-odo, Lejoka, Lejofi, Arojo, Onimo, Yeye Lejoka, Owa's Secretary, Mr. Oriowo Alalu and Mr. Gbenga Fowowe and all subscribed to the sanctity of the planned Project as well as unhindered access to the site by the OAUTH team.

It was also resolved that the individual buyers of plots of land at the site should be compensated elsewhere.

More details later
