The Olosunjela of Osunjela-Ijesa in Atakumosa West local government, Osun State, Oba Muhammed Babatunde, is alive, hale and hearty, contrary to widespread rumour that he is sick and flown outside the country.
The 87-year old monarch, was reported to have been very sick, debilitated and flown out of the country. But it was all fake news.
The rumour which stemmed from when the immediate-past minister of interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, while leaving Ilesa after paying courtesy visit to Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran II on June 7 on his way to Osogbo attempted a stopover at Osunjela but he was not welcomed by the kabiyesi and his family.
Mr. Olakunle Mohammed, son of the Olosunjela, who spoke with KakakiOodua said, “We received so many telephone calls seeking for clarification that baba is seriously sick and flown out of the country. Its not true; Olosunjela is alive and is in good health.”
He also said that kabiyesi will celebrate his birthday on Sunday (today).
