Nuhu Ribadu has expressed appreciation for the many congratulatory messages and well-wishes he received on his appointment as National Security Adviser (NSA).
He took to his official Twitter handle @NuhuRibadu and twitted;
"Many of you–friends and well-wishers–have sent out kind words on my appointment as the National Security Adviser (NSA) by His Excellency President @officialABAT. I sincerely appreciate your felicitations and prayers. I shall strive to discharge this confidence reposed in me."
Before his appointment as NSA, President Bola Tinubu had initially appointed Ribadu as a special adviser on security.
President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Nuhu Ribadu, a retired Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, as National Security Adviser (NSA) has signalled the return of police control of internal security, according to experts.
Ribadu’s appointment, which has generated various reactions, is a clear departure from the practice whereby succeasive presidents since 1999 appointed military officers as NSA.
