The University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan has been gutted by fire.
The fire incident affected part of the hospital on Saturday.
However, it was gathered that the fire was put off by firefighters who quickly arrived at the scene of the incident to prevent spread.
The cause of the fire incident was not known as of the time of filling this report.
The UCH Chief Medical Director, Professor Abiodun Otegbayo confirmed the incident in a statement.
He explained that immediately the incident started, the authorities alerted three different fire services which quickly mobilized their resources and rushed to the scene to put off the inferno.
He added that contrary to a speculation no patient was trapped in the inferno which affected part of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and one of the theatres.
The CMD assured relatives and families of patients that everything is under control and services have since commenced through immediate alternative arrangements"
