The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Ajibola Basiru has in strong terms condemned the idea of launching a caucus to help the Osun APC.
The National Secretary said Osun APC members should not allow some hypocrites to put wools on the eyes of our members, that whatever caucus they want to do, the caucus is not recognized within the party and if people behind the scenes want to work with the party they should go back to their political wards as apologists from members of the party that they deceived.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Abuja APC national Secretariat when Engr. Remi Omowaiye led a delegation of the Osun APC Restoration Forum on a congratulatory visit to him, Sen. Basiru insisted that there is nothing wrong if a member of a party decides to join another political party but why would such member pretend that he is in APC when he is using the resources of the party that made him to work for PDP.
"Today, APC is the government at the federal level, if you say all of us in Osun are bad, is Asiwaju Tinubu also bad that you cannot even dignify him by casting even one vote for him.
"As far as I am concerned, we don't need any nebulous and dubious caucus to come and help us in Osun APC.
"Asiwaju once said clearly that anybody that cannot suffer the pain of defeat does not merit the joy of success. As a party, we are going to overcome the temporary setback but we don't need hypocrites to come and tell us what to do.
"The party is stronger and better when you organize as a collective not when some people think they are thin gods and their words must be the law. A party of democracy must be built on democratic ethos not on the whims and caprices an individual no matter what he thinks he is." The National Secretary remarked
KAKAKIOODUA has earlier reported that the immediate past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has restated his commitment to progressive ideals and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State during the launching of Omoluabi Caucus of the All Progressives Congress in Ilesa, on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
Describing the Omoluabi Caucus as one of the many caucuses in the state, the former two-term governor of Osun, noted that the caucus is not a faction of the party, but a union of like-minds in the state.
