Following an interview on a Yoruba radio programme titled 'Oro Oselu', that featured the chairman of a newly-inaugurated self-styled 'Omoluabi APC Caucus', one Mr Adelowo Adebiyi, which was monitored in Osogbo, the Osun State capital yesterday, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has castigated the totality of the content of the interview and branded same as highly deficient in truth.
According to the Osun State Chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo today, it was unfortunate that Adelowo who carries an ecumenical title of an 'Elder' could allow himself to be used as a purveyor of a political message by his paymaster which has exposed him to his audience as a pathological liar.
Lawal stated that it was unfortunate that Adelowo could make a reckless submission in the said interview that the Osun State chapter of the APC had not objected to the formation of the renegade and rebellious 'Omoluabi APC Caucus' when in fact, the APC had issued a statement through the spokesman of the party in the state few days ago, condemning the act.
He expressly told Adelowo that he would wait till eternity if he is faulting the choice of the spokesman of the party that conveyed the statement that condemned outrightly the birth of the self-styled ', Omoluabi APC Caucus' which is not in anyway different from its defunct sibling, 'The Osun Progressives (TOP) which are two leprous hands with similar nefarious mission.
The state APC chairman observed that the perturbed disposition of Adelowo during the one-hour interview gave him out as someone who does not have a mind of his own and was only propelled by his paymaster to come and sell an impossible and unpopular product which was exemplified during the question-and-answer segment of the interview programme where all the callers condemned in their entirety everyone and anything that has to do with their unpopular political caucus.
Lawal stated that it was ludicrous and highly embarrassing that Adelowo could throw caution to the wind by disclosing during the interview that his boss, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, the immediate-past Minister of Interior, did not vote in the presidential, governorship, national and House of Assembly elections last year and this year because Aregbesola was running an errand for former President Muhammed Buhari.
He told Adelowo to tell that to the marine as it is a convention for the presidency to equip any of its political appointees with the needed resources and election vacation with which to facilitate a positive and brighter showing during the elections.
Lawal asked if it was proper for Aregbesola, the greatest beneficiary of the party at the time as a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria, for whatever reason, to have either refused to campaign or vote during the elections.
He asked if Adelowo was telling the whole world that the former President Buhari too did not vote in any of his party's elections held in his town during the period under review?
Adelowo should let the world know what is so special about the founder of his obnoxious Omoluabi Caucus that he was always the only minister running an errand for the ex-President Buhari during the periods of all the elections held in Osun State?
Lawal asked Adelowo too if it was the errand that his boss was running for the former President Buhari that also prevented him from attending the National Convention of the APC in Abuja and the party's presidential primary election that produced Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who later won the nation's presidential election?
He went further to state that he would have expected Adelowo in his interview to brief the world what necessitated his paymaster to talk down on former Governor Oyetola and Asiwaju Tinubu, stating at different fora in Ijebu-Jesa, Osogbo, Iwo and Ikire that they had prayed to God to bring them down before the elections.
In the state chairman's words: "All the names of the State Working Committee (SWC) members of the party that Adelowo disclosed as identifying with the 'Omoluabi Caucus' have been with them right from the outset. Infact, the one that is a senatorial chairman among them had since been suspended from the state executive council of the party.
"I make bold to state that the state executive of our party is intact. The senator and the former member of the National House of Representatives that you are flaunting as your members have been identifying with your group right from the word go.
"There is a free entry and free exit in any political party. It is either you are with us or you are against us. Whoever is willing to be a member of the APC must be ready to abide by its rules and regulations. It is morally wrong for any person or a group of people to be pretending to be in our party and at the same time be working against the interest of the party.
"Is Adelowo, the chairman of the indecorum 'Omoluabi APC Caucus' not aware that a sizeable number of the Aregbesola loyalists in his dissolved TOP have taken employments under the government of Governor Adeleke, whom they worked assiduously for his success during the governorship and other elections to the detriment of the APC candidates? It is pretty impossible for a servant to serve two masters.
"The characteristic hallmarks of a virtuous person (Omoluabi) anywhere under the sun are honesty, candidness, bluntness and forthrightness among other ethos", Lawal stated.
