Oyetola at 69: Ijesa APC Congratulates Minister... Says Osun People Now Miss His Quality of Exemplary Leadership







The All Progresives Congress (APC) in Ijesa zone has sent their congratulatory message to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Isiaq Adegboyega Oyetola, on the occasion of his 69th birthday.


In a statement signed by the Leader of the party in the zone, Elder Kunle Odeyemi, the party gave glory to Almighty God for sparing the life of the former governor, describing this year's birthday as epochal as it coincides with the period he was called upon to serve his fatherland as a Minister of the Federal Republic.


The Party used the auspicious moment to specially thank the former governor for conceptualising and implementing decent, friendly and purposeful educational policy that culminated in the fulfillment of the age-long aspiration of Ijesa people, establishment of the coveted University of Ilesa, during his tenure as the 5th Executive Governor of the state.


While wishing the Minister more prosperous birthdays in good health, the Ijesa APC also used the Minister's birthday to appeal to the federal government to tackle effectively the menace mining activities has generated in Ijesaland. 


The statement, which read in part, implored the minister "...to use his influence to further draw the attention of the Federal Government to the danger posed by illegal mining in Ijesaland as well as the heightened security challenge in the state generally. Osun people now miss the quality and exemplary leadership provided by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola since he left the headship of Osun State, security of life and property has become a free-for-all as there is hardly a day crime incident is not recorded in the state. Reports of killing, armed robbery, kidnapping and attacks on members of the public have become a daily routine. Okada riders and farmers are the most endangered species."
