OSHA Constitutes Ad-hoc Committee to Investigate Ila-Orangun OSSCE Provost






The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, on thursday announced to the House that he has received petitions against the Provost of the Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun, Prof. Afolabi Jimoh Atanda on the allegation of financial recklessness and misappropriation.


The Speaker who read the petition to the hearing of his colleagues at the Plenary, restated the commitment of the House to ensure that public resources voted to the various government institutions are judiciously administered.


He went on to constitute an adhoc committee to be headed by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Akinyode Oyewusi, and four others, charging the committee to look into the issues raised in the petition and return findings to the House within allotted time.


He enjoins them to be thorough and be fair to all parties involved in the issue raised, reemphasizing the responsibility of the legislature to protect the interest of the people in government institutions.


The terms of reference of the committee included the invitation of the Provost and other management staff of the institution to investigate the allegation and report back to the house within a week. 


Other members of the committee are Hon. Adeyemi Adewumi, Hon. Barr. Kanmi Ajibola, Hon. Sikiru Bajepade and Hon. Barr. Adeyemi Tajudeen.
