The Vice Chancellor, University of Ilesa, professor Taiwo Ashaolu  dropped the hint while playing host to members of one of the Ijesa foremost societies, Ijesa Progressive Council who came visiting to the institution.

Professor Ashaolu noted that the university has  renovated a quiet number of the existing infrastructures that were in deplorable conditions and erected new ones that were  befitting of a world class university, courtesy of the state governor ,  Senator Ademola Adeleke led administration.

According to the Vice Chancellor, the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria, National Library donated books and journals  up to 2024 edition , while the Old Students of the defunct OYOCO 1986  set also donated four modern toilets

“….nobody has given us anything except the governor and those that I have mentioned. Achievements so far , we have 32 accredited programs so far…..I am afraid we may have to step down three of them due to paucity. If you have visited this place in February or March, may be you would have said this place should be closed down because of what you would have met on ground in term of facilities. Members of staff have become disillusioned because of the deplorable conditions of every building here, but for the singular effort of the state government in terms of revamping”.

Professor Ashaolu said for the dream of having a befitting ivory tower to come to fruition, the Ijesas must fulfill their part of agreement to co-fund the institution because the requirements for the take smooth off of Faculties of Nursing, Law and Accountancy is expensive and  peculiar.

The don, who showed the visitors to the faculties of Law, Arts, Education, Nursing, Law conference hall and hostels, reiterated the management’s resolve to make the university rank among the best not only in the state but the country in general.

He lamented the  dearth of utility and operational vehicles, stating that the university inherited no functional official vehicles and infrastructures.
